The NOC-LIST Mailing List

  1. What happened to NOC-L?

It's a long story, but basically the service provider we were using was taken over by another company. The new company is only interested in hosting web pages so they dropped all the other services which included several that we were using. To stop this happening again, the list is now hosted by Lsoft who are the authors of Listserv, one of the major email list packages. This is a service the club is now paying for. Unfortunately, there was already a NOC-L list on their servers so we had to change the name of our list to NOC-LIST.

  2. How Do I Send A Message?

To send a message to the people on the mailing list, use the following address:

    NOC-LIST@home.ease.lsoft.com
Please be aware of the that any message sent to the NOC-LIST may be edited and used on the web pages or in Roadholder magazine.

The computer is set to reject messages from anybody who is not a member of the NOC-LIST mailing list. The computer will also reject any message it thinks contains a Listserv command or keyword. Any rejected messages are passed to the List Manager for checking. People will be automatically removed from the list if messages sent to their email address produce a lot of errors.

The computer will also filter out any attachments and very large messages.
